SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the sphere of commercial fishing dealing with methods of catching hydrobionts as attracted by light with the help of fish pump equipment. The process includes submerging the catchment unit of the fish pump installation equipped with luminaries and fish pump hoses, switching on the luminaries, attracting fish to the area being lit, actuating the fish pump, suction and rehandling of catch on board the ship. The electric luminaries, equipped with reflectors and positioned above the catchment unit generate converging uniaxial light fluxes. The area of light is thus matched to coincide with the fish concentration zone and the fish pump catchment unit suction area. Fishing efficiency is improved due to maximally accurate coincidence of areas of fish concentration and pump suction.
