FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: device of changing gears incorporates a drive control unit with handle mounted in the driver's cab and a gear shift control mechanism arranged on the gear box. The control unit is fitted with a hinged element coupled with the handle to convert the handle lengthwise- crosswise motions into reciprocating motions of the cables linked with the said element. The opposite ends of cables have a pivot connection with the gear shift mechanism made up of the gear shifting shaft and the conversion mechanism. The conversion mechanism incorporates pivot connections with the vehicle body and gear shifting shaft that ensure the conversion of reciprocating motion on the cables into rotational motion of the shaft and its axial translation. The gear shifting shaft lengthwise motion axis is not parallel to the direction of the cables travel and does not exist in the pane formed by the resultant vectors of their travel.
EFFECT: longer life of the transmission train cables.
