FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for determining mass content of residual quantities of polyoxyethylated non-ionic surface active substances in their sulphated derivatives. The method of separate identification of non-ionic surface active substances, involves potentiometric titration of the analysed sample with a solid contact indicator electrode, containing an ion-associate of cetylpyridiniumtetraphenylborate, and a silver chloride comparison electrode. Tetraphenylborate is used as the titrant in the presence of barium salts. The analysed sample is chosen such that, it contains non-ionic surface active substances in their sulphated derivatives. After titration with tetraphenylborate, which allows determining total content of non-ionic surface active substances and their sulphated derivatives, the analysed sample is titrated with cetylpyridinium chloride for quantitative measurement of content of sulphated derivatives. Content of non-ionic surface active substances is determined from the difference of the obtained results.
EFFECT: more functional capabilities of the method due to a wide range of objects used when identifying non-ionic surface active substances in their sulphated derivatives, including when they are contained in micro quantities.
