FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: interturbine duct assembly to be used in a gas turbine engine or the like unit includes a duct to receive the flow from the turbine with an inlet and outlet, inner and outer surfaces and to form a main fluid medium flow passage. An opening is provided on the duct outer surface. The aforesaid assembly comprises also a nozzle communicating with the duct and a channel with its inlet communicating with the said opening and outlet arranged in the nozzle. The said channel makes a fluid medium flow bypass passage between the duct and the nozzle. Various versions of the given invention propose certain means to increase the gas turbine engine efficiency by controlling the fluid medium flow in the said interturbine duct. The invention allows increasing the low-pressure turbine stage diameter relative to that of the high-pressure stage and/or decreasing the number of the low-pressure turbine nozzles as compared to known similar versions.
EFFECT: lower weight and higher efficiency of gas turbine engine.
