SUBSTANCE: invention concerns creation of a new plant-based medicine in the form of water- and alcohol-based lotion for prevention and treatment of alopecia and seborrhea of the scalp. The medicine for treatment of alopecia and seborrhea of the scalp includes ethanolic extract of the herb mix comprising hop cones, roots of common licorice, leaves of stinging nettle, fruit of hot red pepper, leaves of garden sage, at the ratio of 8:5:3:2:2, obtained by processing of raw materials with 40-70% ethanol with added turpentine and castor oils, with 15 ml of oil per 1 litre of the extract. Method for obtaining the medicine for treatment of alopecia and seborrhea of the scalp involves extraction of shredded raw herb mix including hop cones, roots of common licorice, leaves of stinging nettle, fruit of hot red pepper, leaves of garden sage, at the ratio of 8:5:3:2:2 by 40-70% ethanol at the raw material to extractant ratio of 1:10, further infusion of the extract at continuous stirring and temperature of 40-45°C followed by separation of the solution, cooling to the room temperature, filtration and addition of turpentine and castor oil mix at the ratio of 1:2 respectively. The extract is infused for 8 hours.

EFFECT: production of lotion for prevention and treatment of androgenetic alopecia, alopecia seborrheica and areata, seborrhea adiposa and concrete seborrhea of the scalp, scurf.
