FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: front end of sheet metal billet of rectangular shape is supplied into bending rolls and installed with its front edge parallel to generatrix of bending rolls. After that bending rolls are displaced in vertical plane towards each other, thus sheet metal billet is pressed in bending rolls. Rotation of bending rolls displaces billet in forward direction until its front end crosses inclined plane, after that billet displacement is stopped. Then pressing roll is displaced in inclined plane, and sheet billet is preliminarily bent. Then sheet billet displacement is continued in forward direction, and measuring device is moved in direction along radius of bent billet until it touches with rolls of measuring device. Obtained radius of billet bending is determined on the basis of measuring device readings. Pressing roll is displaced in inclined plane until required radius of billet bending is obtained. After required radius is obtained according to drawing and back end of billet reaches bending rolls, bending rolls are rotated in reverse direction to displace the billet in reverse direction. As a result, required radius of bending is obtained along the whole length of billet.
EFFECT: increase of process efficiency and reduction of additional expenses.
