FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to high-voltage lines. Device for strengthening overhead line (OL) wires in anchor span comprises high-voltage line wire fixed on cross arm of anchor and intermediate poles using strain and support insulator strings. Flexible reinforcement rod (e.g. cable) is located over OL wire in its plane. This rod is provided with dead-end clamps at its ends. The clamps together with OL dead-end clamps are coaxially fixed on cross arms of anchor poles. Reinforcement flexible element on intermediate poles is located over OL wire and fixed in support clamps in combination with OL wire. In spans wire and flexible reinforcement element are interconnected being strained by at least one transverse link.

EFFECT: wire bearing capacity and tensile strength improvement.
