SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to coding protected items. The coding apparatus comprises at least one pair of collocated luminescent substances, consisting of first and second luminescent substances, emitting in a common range, outside the visible spectrum. The emission spectra of the first and second luminescent substances overlap in at least, one part of the given emission band such that, the emission spectrum of the first luminescent substance is complemented with the emission spectrum of the second luminescent substance in a way characteristic of the first luminescent substance. The valuable documents coding system comprises at least one pair of collocated luminescent substances, while the valuable documents, whose distinctiveness has to be provided for, have different first and/or second luminescent substances.
EFFECT: obtaining compact coding apparatus with information density coupled with small surface area.
