FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention deals with a template facilitating mounting a set of hardware onto a sliding door, a window sash etc. Each interlocking hardware set includes an interlocking hardware piece with a fixture and a latching element coming in contact with the latter in the interlocking state. The template first end which shape fits that of the fixture or specific section thereof, can be inserted in the interlocking hardware piece instead of the the fixture or specific section thereof. The template second end may come in contact with the latching element instead of the fixture. Thanks to the template intermediate member the two ends of the template are positioned at a mounting distance from each other. There is a also a method proposed for an interlocking hardware set mounting with the help of the template under consideration. With the help of the template second end (conjugated with the latching element) one defines the latching element mounting position which finally ensures correct mutual alignment of the interlocking hardware and the latching element.
EFFECT: correct mutual alignment of the interlocking hardware and the latching element.
