DETACHABLE TAIL SECTION OF CARRIER ROCKET Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B64G1/00

Abstract RU 2345931 C1

FIELD: transport; aeronautics.

SUBSTANCE: tail section of carrier rocket is equipped with fuel tank and propulsion unite and has transverse joint with next stage and longitudinal joints of tail section panels with each other and pushers installed at joints. Transverse joint with next stage is at design distance from surface of conjunction of side cylindrical surface with spherical bottom of fuel tank. Longitudinal joints of tail section panels have pushers located in planes off transverse plane passing through centres of panel masses in direction of transverse conjunction of tail section with next stage at distance comprising (0.05-0.15) of tail section length. Longitudinal panel joints pushers stroke exceeds tail section transverse joints with nest stage pushers stroke by 7-8 times with average summary force of pushers of each longitudinal panel joint exceeding respective force of pushers of transverse conjunction of tail section with next stage.

EFFECT: increase of payload launched to orbit by carrier rocket and securing impact-free separation of tail section of carrier rocket.
