FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to knitwear manufacture, in particular, to means of measuring process loads during knitting and to estimation of the thread tension state at overloads. In compliance with the proposed invention, first, the thread rupture strength is determined at the tension testing machine. Then, the thread is taken up from the bobbin and moved through thread feed elements and create a certain process thread tension. Now, the thread is fitted into the thread tension regulator and thread tension pickup, and move it into interaction with knitting elements to start knitting process. In knitting, the said regulator is used to increase the thread tension that is recorded until the rupture. The tension at which rupture occurs is registered. Thread tension is estimated by the ratio, representing factor K, between the rupture load Q and initial tension T0 at which the rupture occurs.
EFFECT: integrated estimation of thread tension during knitting and estimation of influence knitting machine modification on process efficiency.
