FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns powder metallurgy field. Particularly it concerns fibrous tantalum powder and method of its receiving. Method includes powder recovery in reactor made of complex fluoric salt by vaporous reductant and following separation of tantalum powder from salts of reaction product. During recovery partial pressure of vaporous reductant and temperature in the reactor are kept so that initial tantalum-bearing salt and salts of reaction product are in solid state. In the capacity of complex fluoric salt there are used potassium fluorine-tantalate or sodium fluorine-tantalate. In the capacity of reductant there are used sodium, potassium or alloy of sodium with potassium. Fibrous tantalum powder is received by mentioned method and consists of metallic particles of fibrous shape. Particles of fibrous shape have diameter from 0.04 till 0.6 micrometer, length from 0.3 till 6 micrometer, relation of particles diameter to its length is from 1/3 till 1/50, Fisher average dimension are less than 0.4 micrometer and specific surface area (BET) not less than 2.0 m2/g.
EFFECT: receiving of non-coherent to each other crystals of powder of increased chemical purity.
