METHOD OF PRODUCING RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A24B3/14 

FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the technology of tobacco refuse processing. The method involves extracting valerian with liquid carbon dioxide and separating a respective miscella. Then the tobacco material is mixed up with liquid carbon dioxide, extracted and shredded by relieving periodically the pressure in the extraction mixture below the pressure of the extractant moist steam at extraction temperature. The miscella is separated from the meal. The obtained miscellas are thereafter joined together. The meal is suspended in an aqueous solution of an edible acid. An edible polyatomic alcohol is introduced into the suspension. The obtained suspension is formed, dried to a residual humidity of 13-15%, cut and treated with the miscellas mixtures by raising simultaneously the pressure. Then the pressure is relieved to atmospheric one by freezing simultaneously the soaked carbon dioxide and the latter is sublimed to obtain a target product in the residue.

EFFECT: improved organoleptical properties of the reconstituted tobacco and shortened duration of the technological process.
