METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A24B3/14 A24B15/18 

FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the technology of tobacco refuse processing. The method consists in extracting quince waste with liquid carbon dioxide and separating a respective miscella. Then the tobacco material is mixed up with a non-polar liquefied gas. The material is extracted and shredded by relieving periodically the pressure in the extraction mixture below the extractant moist steam pressure at extraction temperature. The miscella and meal are separated, a respective extract is taken from the miscella, the meal is suspended in an aqueous solution of an edible acid, an edible polyatomic alcohol is introduced into the suspension and the material is formed and dried to a residual humidity of 13-15%. Then the material is cut and treated with the gas-liquid tobacco extract and separated CO₂ miscella by raising simultaneously the pressure, then the pressure is relieved to atmospheric one by freezing simultaneously the soaked up carbon dioxide and the latter is sublimed to obtain a target product in the residue.

EFFECT: improved organoleptical properties of the reconstituted tobacco and shortened duration of the technological process.
