SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing welded joints, particularly to spacers used in welding thin-wall enclosures and can be used to make welded seams in enclosed spaces of various parts. The proposed spacer incorporates a central cylinder and spacers with stops in contact with a backing ring made up of separate parts. The central cylinder accommodates a guide with carriages arranged to be fixed in guides. The spacers are arranged in pairs with their one ends hinged in the carriage and the other ends interconnected and jointed to one of the stops. The said backing ring can be furnished with an insert and cords connected to every part of aforesaid ring. One of the carriages can be integrated with the central cylinder.

EFFECT: reduced weight of welded enclosed enclosures and higher reliability of the entire structure thanks to using removable welded backing ring.
