SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to equipment for putting isotopic tags on security papers, cultural valuables, some other antique objects, jewellery, and complex items and can be used for protecting them from forgery. The method involves depositing onto security papers, cultural valuables and other objects, an isotopic tag, put into a carrier material, which allows for carrying a mechanically and chemically stable mark. The mark is made from a randomly chosen mixture of stable isotopes of one or more chemical elements, with volatile compounds. The content of the mixture is analysed using surface micro-mass analysis method. The mark is unique, which allows for obtaining unique marking of each separate object or document.

EFFECT: provision for a unique mark, which allows for obtaining a unique mark for each separate object or document.
