MAKAROV'S PLANE FOR GRAFTING BY SHIELD Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A01G1/06 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: plane consists of a body, main knife and handler. Two assemblies are presented - the left and right consisting of side walls and side knives. The body of the plane is made in the form of figured bar with parallel edges. The body has an elongate cavity for moving a shield with an eyelet. Shift of the side knives relative to upper edge of the side walls in the assemblies determines the width of cut shield. The main knife is fixed on the body parallel to the base. The edges of the side knife are attached to the flat of the main knife by fixing side walls to the body through notches. The upper edges of the side walls service as a support for the plane relative to stick. When operating the side knives make an incision, and the main knife makes shield incision by thrusting and cutting it.

EFFECT: increase in productivity, improvement of quality with minimal bruising of shield within grafting due to making shield incision per one pass.
