FIELD: treatment facilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hazardous material disposal. Press (20) for compaction is intended for a case (10) where hazardous materials such as radioactive wastes are stored. The case includes support section (30) and compaction section (40) installed so that it can be moved along vertical axis (Z, Z') and fixed over the support section (30). The case also includes bush (46) in the form of plug for the case (10) compacting under pressure. The guiding device (50) covers the case and contains skirt (52) made up from a cartridge (52a) resting upon the anvil (34) of support section (30) and covering the case (10) along periphery, retaining ring (52b) covering cartridge (52a) and a frame (52c) for retaining ring fastening (52b). The frame (52c) is mounted on the retaining part (54) of the skirt (52) by means of a releasable connection capable of being mounted or demounted if the said skirt moves horizontally within the plane relative to retaining part (54), in case they are in a position of maintenance. The releasable connection contains at least one opening (52e, 52f)) in the form of clamping socket being positioned vertically inside the frame (52c) and at least one mushroom-shaped extension directed vertically downwards from the retaining part (54) of the skirt (52).
