FIELD: physic; computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical writing technology and can be used for high density optical data carriers such as write-once Blu-ray discs (BD-WO). Proposed is a data carrier (write-once optical disc), as well as a method and a device for recording management data onto it. The optical disc has at least one recording layer and several time domains for defect management (TDMA) on at least the same recording layer. At least one TDMA comprises a pointer, which identifies which TDMA has a usable state.
EFFECT: reduction of access time when obtaining positions used for TDMA.
