SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric machines and can be used for damping mechanical oscillations, automatic control systems etc. Proposed device incorporates a hollow non-magnetic cylindrical rotor. External inductor has radially located permanent magnets and salient pole internal core can turn from 0 to 90 degrees with 30 degrees steps. Retainer is fitted on internal core shaft.
EFFECT: control over braking torque with minimum power consumption.
