FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns agriculture, particularly reconstruction of overstocked orchards. When fruit tree overstock causes boost of labour cost for spherical or conical crown pruning, a crown is limited at one inter-row spacing by cutting scaffold and semi-permanent branches at 0.5-1 m distance from the trunk over one or two years after refreshment of fruit-bearing branches at that crown half. The other crown half is limited in similar pattern to form live wall within 1.5-2 m wide. Spherical crowns of first, third, i.e. odd rows are cut without habit changes.
EFFECT: prolonged period of active fruition of orchards with high-quality fruit.
