GABION MAT OF BIOPOSITIVE CONSTRUCTION Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC E02B3/00 

FIELD: construction industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to hydraulic and meliorative construction of environment-oriented shore protection constructions in controlled river beds and protection regulating structures. Gabion mat of biopositive construction consists of meshed metal cover and rock filler. Metal wires are strained at the bottom thus forming large-meshed net. Above the net there located and attached is geotextile whereon bags filled with fertile vegetable soil and seeds of perennial grasses and bushes are laid in a staggered order. Bags are tightly connected to each other and to metal wires of the bottom by means of strong rope. The space between bags is filled with loose earth up to their top, which together with the bags comprises the lower layer of the mat. Above the lower layer there arranged is continuous upper layer made from rock and covered from above with gabion net attached to metal wires of large-meshed net of the bottom. The bottom of large-meshed net is made from galvanised wire with diametre of 3-4 mm and attached to anchors arranged in the slope above the attachment at the distance of the mat width from each other.

EFFECT: invention allows improving efficiency of shore protection structures in flat and submountain beds of rivers and channels, and contributes to rehabilitation of green coastal areas.
