FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in forming electrochemical cell wherein anode is metal pipe. Electrolyte with acidity pH from 1.5 to 6.0 is supplied to the section of metal pipe; electrolyte includes at least one additive-complex former from 0.01 to 0.70% wt; direct electric current of 1.0-4.0 V voltage is supplied to electrodes of electrochemical cell; redox reactions are carried out on electrodes to complete destruction of the pipe section.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of destruction process.
