FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used for chromatographic separation of fullerenes. The method of making a sorbent for separating fullerenes involves formation of a carbon layer on the surface of thermally activated macroporous silochrome through pyrolysis of propargyl alcohol until attaining concentration of carbon on the surface in the range 4.3 wt % to 8.3 wt %, and removal of by-products using a carrier gas. The process is carried out at temperature ranging from 700°C to 900°C in fluidised bed conditions and the carrier gas used is nitrogen or an inert gas.
EFFECT: invention allows for cutting on time for making carbon-containing silica sorbents, designed for separating fullerenes.
