FIELD: nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: construction composition for protection from ionising radiation contains the following, wt %: liquid glass - 21.02 to 24.35; low-molecular polyethylene - 4.14 to 4.22; soot - 0.66 to 0.7; lead chloride - 9.54 to 11.09; lead oxide - 59.76 to 64.51. The product has average density or 2820 to 3250 kg/m3, compression strength (at age of 3 days) - 1.56 to 1.69 MPa, bending strength - 0.46 to 1.28 MPa, coefficient of eliminating fission-spectrum neutrons - 0.029 to 0.031 cm-1, gamma radiation attenuation factor (with photon energy 0.1…0.5 MeV) - 0.39 to 13.203 cm-1.
EFFECT: design of materials for protection from X-rays, gamma- and neutron radiation hazardous places of connecting installations, sealing joints, cracks and cavities in structural units and objects, places of interfacing structures.
