FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to addictology, psychiatry, psychotherapy. Eight stages of treating chronic alcoholism performed involve formation of inhibitory effect and return of quantitative control in taking alcohol. The first stage of treatment implies a three-day abstention from alcohol intake by the patient with talking to the relatives on the co-dependent behaviour. The second stage involves talking to the patient on his willingness for treatment herewith persuading him that moderate drinking is feasible and real, explaining the difference of psychosensory blocking and coding and on necessity to try back in case of failure. Besides cyanamide in amount 10-15 drops is introduced sublingually. At the third stage the patient is examined for the addictive potential and a type of alcoholism progression. Alcoecology data are presented to the patient. At the fourth stage psychosensory blocking is combined with intramuscular introduction of Nempozil and one-year administration of hepatoprotectors. Follow-up care is ensured by monthly calling to the doctor. The fifth stage includes auto-trainings, affirmative techniques, neurolinguistic programming and hypnosis, with consolidating a habit to drink slowly. At the sixth stage the aim to take alcohol as a drug is developed. At the seventh stage the patient practices the obtained skills by self-control in alcohol intake. At the eighth stage the obtained skills in alcohol intake are consolidated in combination with the follow-up care. All said stages are implemented individually, and each stage is followed by entrancing the patient with forming a new conditioned drink reflex.

EFFECT: method allows generating the inhibitory effect and returning the quantitative control in alcohol intake.
