FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal deformation process field, particularly to tool for manufacturing of pipes and can be used at primary and secondary broaching of blank on rotary piercing mill. Mandrel of rotary piercer includes fore, working and multifaceted calibrating sections. Working section is implemented with gradual transition from circular cross-section to multifaceted. Perimetre of profile of calibrating multifaceted of mandrel is formed by coupling of concave and convex arcs. Number of facets of calibrating section if from 4 up to 12. Length of profiled section is 0.04÷0.4 of mandrel length, and ratio of profile comb length to it width is equal to 1/5÷1/12.

EFFECT: invention provides for increased geometric relationship ensured by reduction of transversal thickness variation of bushing, reduction of rolling process energy intensity and metal consumption during manufacturing.
