FIELD: aerospace engineering, engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: multi-stage carrier rocket comprises at least two rocket stages with nuclear rocket engines and nuclear reactor coupled with said engines via circulation pipelines. Nuclear reactor is arranged on upper rocket stage and comprises combustion chamber with regenerative cooling system and turbopump unit. The latter comprises oxidiser and fuel pumps, main and starting turbines and gas generator. Fuel pump outlet communicates with regenerative cooling system inlet and gas generator inlet. Oxidiser pump outlet communicates with gas generator second inlet, while gas generator outlet communicates with heat exchanger arrange inside combustion chamber cylindrical section. Circulation pipelines communicate heat exchanger with nuclear reactor.
EFFECT: improved operating performances in various flight conditions.
