FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to processing of progressive-cavity screw pump screws and comprises revolving workpiece and cutting tool and feeding cutting tool along workpiece lengthwise axis, cutting tool spindle axis being inclined at the angle equal to that of screw spiral line inclination. Cutting angle represents plain milling cutter driven into oscillatory motion by crank head and consisting of revolving crank. Revolving crank revolves in step with screw workpiece revolution and that of con rod. The latter has its one end pivoted to crank and other end pivoted to reciprocating slide. Con rod is accommodated in forked fitting that houses aforesaid milling cutter with separate main motion drive.
EFFECT: expanded performances due to possibility to process two screw workpieces.
