FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed system comprises ignition lock, vehicle motion pickup, safety belt contact pickup, control unit and signaling device. In compliance with proposed method, signaling device switch-off instruction is generated and fed to control unit by at least two-stage change in safety belt pickup contact state during first preset time interval. Control unit is used to recognise signaling device switch-off instruction to switch off said signaling device at least before vehicle stops. Motion termination is taken to be absence of changes in positions of ignition lock contact during second preset time interval after switching off the ignition.
