FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary analogue filtration through a sliding average or through an RC filter, analogue-to-digital conversion and digital filtration. An analogue filter with time constant more than twice less than duration of the useful signal and which provides mean-square deviation of the filtered signal equal to or greater than the quantisation step of the analogue-to-digital converter is made. Also the time quantisation period is selected such that it is less than or equal to the time constant of the analogue filter.

EFFECT: possibility of using an analogue-to-digital converter with less capacity with reduction of cost and size of the device.
