FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: rotary internal combustion engine comprises housing with intake and discharge openings and oval inner working surface, rotor with extending working vanes, compressed air source communicated with said rotor, fuel nozzle and turbocharger. Working vanes form four chambers in aforesaid housing and under-vane chambers. Proposed ICE is furnished with electro-pneumatic system to extend and lock aforesaid vanes in rotor grooves, said system being made up of electro-pneumatic slide valve. Said slide valve communicates compressed air source via air channels with aforesaid under-vane chambers. Rotor side surfaces have recesses to house spring-loaded blocks. Said blocks form chambers communicated, in their turn, with aforesaid slide valve. Said vanes represent a pack of plates that move relative to each other. The number of pack layers makes at least three. Central plate has double-sided rectangular ledges arranged at the plate center. Two spring-loaded "П"-like shaped plates are arranged on both sides of aforesaid central plate. Additional opening with detachable cover is arranged between intake and discharge openings.

EFFECT: engine longer life and reliability, reduced fuel and oil consumption as well as exhaust gas toxicity.
