FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: die shank is fixed in a die holder slot by means of a wedge and a key. Edge of wedge and side surface of die holder slot, which is located on opposite side relative to wedge, and which together are pressed to the die shank on both lateral sides, are convex in cross-section. The above surfaces are rounded radially R = (25…30)·α, where α - width of contact surface of wedge to die shank.

EFFECT: increasing steadiness of dies owing to reduction of concentration of stresses in the zone of fillets at impact of upper half of the die on the lower one.
