SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to tripods for video cameras or photo cameras, especially to small-sized tripods, light and convenient professional tripods intended for operation outside premises. Camera tripod comprises body, tubes, tube bases, central axis, rotary table, lifting rod, hook. Tubes are installed into tube bases and are connected to tripod body. Lifting rod passes vertically through centre of tripod body. Lifting rod nut is installed on tripod body. Between support rod tube base and tripod body there is an opening and closing mechanism, which serves to control angle of support rods opening. Between tubes of support rods there is an internal extending stop mechanism arranged. Opening and closing mechanism, which serves to control angle of support rods opening, comprises body, latch, latch axis, cartridge of latch fixation, spring of latch fixation, handle, yoke, axis of handle, tube base. Latch is placed onto axis, and the axis end there is a cartridge that serves for latch fixation. Axis of latch passes through tripod body as horizontal and parallel to yoke. Yoke is installed at the end of handle axis and is connected to handle. At the other end of handle axis there is a cartridge placed, which serves for fixation of handle axis. At the tube base there is a ratchet engaged to latch.

EFFECT: provision of convenient and safe operation of tripod.
