FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in heating of slate coals to temperature of their thermal decomposition, utilisation of formed low-calorie fuel gas, as well as entrapping and processing of shale oil. At that, thermal processing of slate coals is performed in the place of their natural occurrence by drilling wells to slate bed, ignition of the latter in bottom hole of one of the wells, supply of oxidiser through some wells and discharge of products formed as a result of fire effect in the form of steam-gas mixture to day surface via the other wells. At that, in slate bed there built is hydraulically connected system of drilling channels. They are enlarged by fire working out to decrease hydraulic resistance of the well system as a whole, intensification of mass exchange between oxidiser and ignited slate zone around injection well, keeping the temperature on product-discharging well, which is smaller than initial boiling point of shale oil, and use of products in surface energy chemical complex.

EFFECT: possible thermal processing of deep-lying slate coals in the place of their natural occurrence from depths at which mine production of slate becomes economically inappropriate.
