SUBSTANCE: method is realised by passing around outer and inner contours of the recognised character at constant speed, decomposition of each passage curve into two projections X(t), Y(t) and smoothing these functions. The controlled parametres used are Fourier series coefficients or some other orthogonal series of the curves X(t), Y(t), which are further scaled and compared with their standard values belonging to templates of the recognised characters.
EFFECT: reduced error probability when recognising characters.
