FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a two-step method of producing urea. At the first step, ammonia (7) and carbon dioxide (6) are obtained from natural gas (2) through its conversion (12, 14). An aqueous solution (9c) of ammonium carbamate, obtained by treating smoke (5), which contains carbon dioxide and formed during combustion of an additional stream of fuel, with an aqueous solution (9a), which contains a portion (7b) of the obtained ammonia (7), and the obtained solution (9c) is taken to the second step to obtain a solution from ammonia (7) and carbon dioxide (6) in a urea synthesis reactor (20), where the said solution contains urea and ammonium carbamate, and subsequent decomposition of ammonium carbamate and extraction of urea (8a).
EFFECT: possibility of complete use at the second step of ammonia obtained at the first step, as well as easy and cheap recuperation of carbon dioxide from smoke formed through fuel combustion.
