FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: contact sections have considerable allowances of geometric dimensions, shapes and surfaces locations. The facility consists of a bed and of at least two electric contact heads. Each head has two oppositely arranged hold-down units. Also the hold down unit includes the contact connected with a current contact jaw and a power drive. Notably, the hold-down units are self-adjusted relative to profile height. The current contact jaw has two concentric arranged spherical surfaces. One surface is conjugated with the contact, while a screw with a spherical washer is installed on the other surface; there is facilitated a gap of not less 0.5 mm between the contact and the current contact jaw, when the electric contact head is disconnected.
EFFECT: raised reliability of contact and increased service life of contacts at heating rigid profiles mainly out of titanium alloys.
