FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: sensitive element with a rectangular hysteresis loop in an initial state of magnetisation with a defined magnetic field is exposed to a sum of a linearly increasing magnetic field, as well as high-voltage alternating magnetic field whose amplitude exceeds the initial field. Remagnetisation discontinuities are detected. Increase of the linearly increasing magnetic field is stopped after achieving equality between time intervals between remagnetisation discontinuities caused by the high-voltage magnetic field. The magnetic field is determined from the value of the increasing magnetic field attained at that moment.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to shorter measurement time.
