FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for friction welding of thin-wall structures made from light alloys, for example aircraft fuel tanks. Welding head comprises spindle 1 with work rod and rotation drive to be axially displaced by drive. Spindle 1, spindle drive and work rod drive are mounted on top plate 15 articulated with intermediate plate 16 to move in vertical plane driven by jacks 17. Intermediate plate 16 is mounted on base plate 19 to turn in horizontal plane driven by mechanism 20. Spindle is arranged to be driven axially by drive mounted on welding head base 23 and furnished with built-in crimping force pickup. Pickup 24 tracks welded part s shape.
EFFECT: reliability, ease of use, optimum arrangement of welded surfaces and welding tools.
