SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly to stern gear ships used in shallow water and water containing abrasive particles. Stern gear comprises propeller shaft, protective jacket, propeller screw with its hub secured on propeller shaft flange or cone and lubrication system consisting of water cleaning system and impeller pump. The latter comprises intake branch pipe arranged directly nearby stern shaft bearing and furnished with stiffening ribs that make lengthwise guide channels. Intake branch pipe end is provided with movable sealing gasket. Two-piece split impeller pump has its halves that can be bolted together.

EFFECT: higher reliability thanks to increased efficiency of impeller pump.
