FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: fish trap contains a spring catch and a lock plate. The novelty is that the spring catch represents two flat spiral springs mounted between two directing washers with apertures in turn strongly fastened by joint pins; the end of one spring is right angle curved and ground, and there is a clamp provided from the outside of the curve, while the end of the second spiral spring is supplied with a closed ring; the lock plate is apertured along the full length, one of the ends is folded back to fix closed ring therein; besides the mechanism comprises a flexible metal carrier, and also an elastic nonmetallic loop with a bait fish fastener thereon.

EFFECT: more safe trap operation, reduced probability of hooks, and simplified tackle removal from an entrapped fish.
