FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipe rolling, particularly to producing thin-wall pipes at three-roll sheeting mill of Assel helical rolling. Proposed method comprises piercing the billet into sleeve at helical rolling mill rolls on rolling billet rear end in direction opposite the rolling direction and billet pay-out at Assel mill. Note here that maximum mandrel travel makes 0.8 Dbil while maximum taper of the sleeve rear end wall makes 0.08 Dbill.
EFFECT: ruling out formation of three-face pipe socket and increased yield of suitable products.
