FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture, in particular to selection. In the method the biological productivity of rice grains is determined on tilling capacity and grain content in head. Additionally, seeding rate, germination ability, capacity for survival, actualising of tilling capacity, fertility of spikelets, specific gravity of grains, volume of 1000 grains are determined, and biological productivity is determined by the following expression: where Yi - biological yielding capacity, dt/ha; N - seeding rate, pcs/m2; Ger - germination ability, Sur - capacity for survival, T - tilling capacity; AT - actualising of tilling capacity; Gh - grain content in head; F - fertility of spikelets; p - specific gravity of grains, g/cm3; V - volume of 1000 grains, cm3; 10000 - conversion coefficient in dt/ha.
EFFECT: method enables to determine yielding capacity taking into account varietal features of rice plants.
