FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: string instrument having a long part has a first end part and a second end part. Strings are stretched between the end parts, where the strings lie at a small distance from the surface of the corresponding part, virtually parallel each other such that they can vibrate. The first end part interacts with amplification devices. The instrument has a damper with a damping unit which can be moved by control devices between a damping position in which the said unit presses in the stings, thus damping vibrations of the latter, and a free position. The damping unit has damping elements which press on the strings in the damping position. The control device has a food pedal which interacts with the damping unit such that forces by which the latter presses on the string, and consequently degree of damping the strings, increases depending on the pressure on the foot pedal.
EFFECT: obtaining a size-conscious instrument with more functionalities compared to existing instruments, which is very comfortable when playing.
