SUBSTANCE: invention refers to process devices of connection of optical communication lines. Above-centre locking device includes handle connected to the lever hinged to the first part of locked item; on free end of handle there is engagement surface engaging the second part of the item and fixing the above parts of the item together when handle is in position above the centre line. On free end of handle there is engaging projection to create initial opening force during interaction of handle with the second part of the item at the initial unlocking stage of item. On free end of handle there is additional engaging projection to create initial closing force when the handle interacts with the second part of item when it is being interlocked with the first part of item. Engaging projections are located on opposite sides of handle in its longitudinal plane, and engagement surface of handle is located between engaging projections. Connection of handle to lever is movable by means of longitudinal slot in lever and axis located in movable way in slot and attaching the handle to the lever. Catch which is located so that it can interact with the main engaging projection of handle is made on the second part of item.

EFFECT: simpler design of the device and higher operating reliability.
