FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: inverter generator includes generator unit (14), ignition module (12e), ignition control device (44), converter (20), inverter (26), central processor (40), ignition module (12e), and engine speed metre (14b4). Central processor (40) is the device for determining allowable excess rpm and at the same time the control device of inverter. Generator unit (14) is brought into action by ICE and generates alternating current. Converter (20) is connected to generator unit (14) and inverter (26). Inverter (26) is equipped with key elements. Control device of inverter controls the key elements by means of PWM signal. PWM signal is generated by using reference sine signal, as well as carrier signal with possibility of conversion of alternating current to current of the specified frequency. Ignition control device (44) controls ignition module (12e). Device for determining allowable excess rpm determines whether ICE is in excess rpm state or not. When rpm of ICE is exceeded, control device of inverter sends the command to ignition control device (44) to stop ICE. Inverter control device can be actuated in each control cycle. Device for determining allowable excess rpm counts the number of times when engine speed is equal to the first threshold value or exceeds it. Ignition control device (44) can contain analogue circuit.

EFFECT: possible protection of ICE against repeated excess rpm is provided.
