FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises a display having a touch-sensitive surface which reacts to user data input using a stylus, and a control unit which has two-way communication with the display. The control unit reacts to user selection of displayed text in a first position on the display using the stylus, and in response to a first signal generated using the stylus, copies the selected displayed text into buffer associated with the text window and also displays the copied text in that text window. The text window is associated with a virtual keyboard application which enables to edit the copied text. The control unit then reacts to selection by the user of a second position on the display using the stylus, and in response to the second signal, copies the displayed text from the text window to the second position on the display, thus performing the copy and paste function. The cut and paste function can also be realised.
EFFECT: high efficiency of operation owing to reduced probability of input errors.
