FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in exciting formation by acoustic power pulses propagating therein, measuring acoustic and electromagnetic signals excited by aforesaid pulses of acoustic power inside formation, and isolating acoustic and electromagnetic Stoneley waves from said measured acoustic and electromagnetic signals. Acoustic and electromagnetic signals are synthesised that represent Stoneley waves propagating through formation. Wave characteristics of acoustic and electromagnetic Stoneley waves are compared with appropriate characteristics of synthesised Stoneley waves. Permeability is defined from minimum of difference between said waves.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination, expanded performances.
