FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: hydraulic protection section is installed between a submersible rotor pump and a motor and has a primary mechanical seal and a secondary oil seal at the end from the pump side. The mechanical seal has stiff sealing surfaces arranged in a sliding contact relative to each other. The secondary seal has an inner section sealed relative to the hydraulic protection shaft and an outer section sealed relative to the body. The hydraulic protection section has a pressure-balancing facility to balance pressure of motor lubricant oil with a wellbore fluid pressure. Using the secondary seal extends time before the wellbore fluid contacts the motor oil.
EFFECT: secondary seal makes it possible to avoid the necessity in multiple sealing sections, to use a special oil to lubricate the primary seal, which is more resistant to destruction of water emulsion compared to a motor oil.
